Elliptical Sentence , Kalimat Eliptik , Contoh Kalimat Eliptik

 

Elliptical Sentence

 

Elliptical Sentence adalah penghilangan bagian tertentu dari suatu kalimat akibat penggabungan dengan kalimat lain tanpa menyebabkan perubahan arti kalimat

 

Intinya ada peyederhanaan dua kalimat tanpa mengubah arti karena Subjectnya melakukan atau tidak kegiatan yang sama

 

He    can     play   chess

Dia bisa bermain catur

---

I       can     play   chess

Saya bisa bermain catur

 

Digabung menjadi :

 

He can play chess and I can too

Dia bisa bermain catur dan saya juga bisa

 

He can play chess and so can I

Dia bisa bermain catur dan saya juga bisa

Catatan 1 :

Bila  kalimat yang digabung mengandung Auxiliary Verb ( Kata Kerja Bantu)  seperti yaitu :

1. Will/Would (akan) ,

2. Can/Could ( dapat), 

3. May/might ( boleh) ,

4. Shall /Should ( akan)

5. Is/Was , Are /Were

6. Has /have/had + V3 ( telah....)

 

 

Maka sebagai Ellipticnya tetap AV( kata itu)  sendiri

 

She will write a letter

( Dia akan menulis surat)

We will write a letter

( Kami akan menulis surat)

Disederhanakan menjadi:

She will write a letter and we will too

She will write a letter and so will we

Dia akan menulis sepucuk surat dan kami juga

Dia telah menulis sepucuk surat

Saya telah menulis sepucuk surat

 

Disederhanakan menjadi

Catatan  2:

 

Penyerdahanaan Kalimat Positip bila tidak ada Auxiliary Verb

Maka sebagai ganti Auxiliary Verb ( AV) diatur sebagai berikut :

 

  1. Do untuk V1 ( study /write/play /pass)
  2. Does untuk V1+s ( studies/writes/plays /passes
  3. Did untuk V2 ( studied / wrote/plyed/passed)

We      write   a letter  ( Kami menulis surat)

 

Disederhanakan menjadi :

 

She writes a letter and we do too

She writes a letter and so do we

Dia menulis sebuah surat dan kami juga

atau

Catatan 3 :

 

Kata Has /Have/Had bila tidak diikuti V3 aturannya sebagai berikut :

  1. Has bentuk ellipticnya menjadi does bila artinya mempunyai+Benda atau harus + to +V1
  2. Have bentuk ellipticnya menjadi do bila artinya mempunyai +benda atau harus + to + V1
  3. Had bentuk elipticnya menjadi did bila artinya mempunyai+ benda atau harus+to +V1

Catatan 4 :

Penyederhanaan 2 Kalimat Negatip bila tidak ada Auxiliary Verb  maka sebagai ganti Auxiliary Verb ( AV) diatur sebagai berikut :

 

1.Will/Would + not (tidak akan) ,

2. Can/Could + not ( tidak dapat/ mampu), 

3. May/might+not ( boleh) ,

4.Shall /Should + not( tidak  akan)

5. Is/Was + not , Are /Were + Not

6. Has /have/had + Not +V3 ( telah tidak / belum....)
